Colonial Currency is one of Privateer Media's most detailed areas of expertise.
During the past several years we've developed over fifty REPRODUCTION
early American Colonial notes that boast a level of accuracy and realistic detail rivaled
by no one else in the industry. Our currency is printed using a proprietary method
very similar to how the originals were produced, the result giving an
"imperfect" overlay of the engraving details that is unique to the original
notes. Also, all of our currency is marked with the word "COPY"
to comply with Federal Law. In March of
2007 our Colonial Currency was accepted for national distribution through the Cooperman Company and its "History Lives"
division. Look for our paper currency at historical sites and museum gift shops
nationwide beginning in the spring.
While sample packs of our currency are now handled exclusively through the
Cooperman Company, currency sheets and custom orders are still available directly through
Privateer Media via our website. Check out our notes currently in print below:

ometimes we
find it necessary to test the boundaries of what we can reproduce. Recently we tried
our hand at one of the most beautiful and more valuable Continentals - the $20 note from
the May 10th, 1775 emission. The result can be seen here. Available cut and
packaged in lots of six notes, this special printing is available in limited quantities
for $12.95 per pack.

Anther note we recently produced is the James River Bank Form in the twenty-pound denomination. One of the larger Virginia currencies, this note is truly unique. As a large format note it is available cut and packaged in lots of three notes for $2.50 per pack.

n addition to reproduction paper currency, Privateer Media
maintains an impressive collection of ORIGINAL 18th century
English and Spanish silver coinage. These ORIGINAL
pieces are available for rent to use in advertising, production and film work when only
the real thing will do. Please call or email
to discuss the details of your project with us.
